Installation & Setup

What languages does Advancify support?

Currently, Advancify supports English only. We're planning to add more languages in the future, but for now, all menus, notifications, and reports are in English.

What age range is Advancify suitable for?

The adult version of Advancify is designed for users aged 18 and older.

It is intended for professionals, students, and individuals who regularly engage in computer-based work or learning and want greater awareness of their digital performance patterns.

How do I get started with Advancify?

To get started:

  • Download the desktop installer from the official Advancify website.
  • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • Provide explicit consent for camera-based signal processing.
  • Grant the required permissions, including camera access.

Because Advancify relies on real-time visual interaction and physiological signal analysis, camera permission and consent are required for monitoring and metric generation.

Your 7-day free trial begins when the trial is activated. The trial provides access to all available application features. The expiry date shown in the application is the controlling end date for the trial.

System Requirements & Compatibility

Does Advancify have an Android app?

Currently, Advancify does not yet have an Android version.

Our team is developing a mobile experience and is working to make Advancify available on Android in the near future.

Does Advancify have an iOS app?

At the moment, Advancify is available as a desktop application.

We are actively working on an iOS version and are doing everything possible to bring Advancify to this platform as soon as possible.

On which computers is Advancify currently available?

Advancify is currently available for macOS on Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs, including M1, M2, M3, and newer processors.

A Windows version is in active development and will be released soon.

We are working to ensure full compatibility and stable performance across both platforms.

Does Advancify need an internet connection to work?

Core functionality does not require a constant internet connection.

Signal processing and performance analysis occur locally on your device.

An internet connection may be required for:

  • Account authentication
  • Subscription activation and payment processing
  • Software updates

Advancify is designed to minimize data transmission and prioritize local processing wherever possible.

Dashboard & Interface

Why didn't I receive a break reminder?

Check that:

  • notification permission is granted;
  • Break Reminders are enabled;
  • monitoring is active;
  • sufficient valid data has been collected.

A reminder is only sent when the relevant conditions are met.

A low value in one metric alone does not necessarily trigger a notification.

Can I disable break reminders while keeping recovery updates?

Yes.

Each notification category has its own switch in Settings, allowing you to choose which notifications you receive.

Will metric monitoring continue if notifications are disabled?

Yes.

Disabling notifications does not disable the camera or metric calculation.

You will still be able to view current and historical insights inside the application but may not receive system alerts.

What is the difference between System Notifications and Email Notifications?

System Notifications appear through your operating system while the desktop app is installed and authorised to send notifications.

Email Notifications are messages sent to the email address associated with your account.

The available categories may differ between the two channels.

What notifications does Advancify provide?

Advancify provides several notification categories that you can manage in Settings.

Break reminders

Notifications suggesting that taking a short voluntary break may be beneficial based on your current Energy Level.

Your Energy Level reflects your overall estimated state, combining multiple Advancify metrics, including:

  • Mental Energy;
  • Visual Comfort;
  • Cognitive Load;
  • Cognitive Reserve;
  • Work–Rest Balance;
  • other real-time interaction signals,

to determine when recovery may be helpful.

Recovery updates

Notifications indicating that relevant metrics appear to have improved after a break or period away from active screen interaction.

Product updates

Information about:

  • new features;
  • application improvements;
  • software updates.

System Notifications are delivered through your operating system and require notification permission.

Email Notifications, where available, are sent to the email address associated with your account.

Disabling notifications does not by itself stop monitoring; camera-based monitoring is controlled separately.

What do the Recommended and Minimum rest times mean?

The Suggested Rest section provides personalised guidance on how long a break may help you recover based on your current Energy Level and recent interaction patterns.

It includes two values.

Recommended

The estimated break duration most likely to help you recover comfortably before returning to work or study.

Whenever possible, this is the recommended amount of rest.

Minimum

The shortest break that may provide a meaningful recovery benefit.

If you cannot take the full recommended break, taking at least the minimum break is encouraged.

Both values are personalised and may change throughout the day as your estimated state changes.

They are intended to help you maintain consistent performance while reducing prolonged mental and visual workload.

Suggested Rest durations are non-medical estimates based on your current Energy Level and interaction patterns.

They are provided for informational purposes only and should not be interpreted as medical advice or prescribed recovery times.

Why is the Open Widget button not working?

Check whether:

  • the widget is already open behind another window;
  • it has opened on another display.

If necessary, restart Advancify.

If the problem continues, contact support and include:

  • application version;
  • operating system;
  • diagnostic logs.

How do I reopen the widget?

Select Open Widget in the main application.

Depending on your operating system version, you may also be able to reopen it from the menu bar or system tray.

Can I close the widget without stopping monitoring?

Yes.

Closing the widget only hides the control panel.

Monitoring continues unless you:

  • press Pause;
  • turn off the camera;
  • quit Advancify.

Can I hide or move the widget?

Yes.

You can position the widget anywhere along the left or right edge of your screen by dragging it to the desired location, where it will automatically dock.

The widget is designed to stay accessible while taking up minimal screen space, allowing you to monitor your current Energy Level without interrupting your work.

What is the Advancify widget?

The Advancify widget is a compact floating panel that keeps you informed about your current status without interrupting your work.

The widget has two display modes.

Collapsed mode

The widget remains docked to the edge of your screen and displays your current Energy Level, allowing you to monitor your overall state at a glance while taking up minimal screen space.

Expanded mode

The widget provides additional information and quick actions, including:

  • your current Energy Level;
  • a Low Light indicator when insufficient ambient lighting is detected;
  • monitoring controls, available by clicking the Energy Level sphere, allowing you to start, pause or resume monitoring;
  • a Go to App button for opening the full Advancify application.

The widget is designed to provide continuous awareness of your current state while remaining unobtrusive during work.

You can expand or collapse it at any time depending on how much information you want to see.

You can enable or open the widget from the main Advancify application.

What does the central Energy Level sphere represent?

The Energy Level sphere provides a simple, high-level overview of your current estimated work state.

Rather than representing a single metric, it combines information from multiple Advancify estimates—including:

  • Mental Energy
  • Visual Comfort
  • Cognitive Load
  • Cognitive Reserve
  • Work–Rest Balance
  • other real-time interaction signals

to summarise your overall state in one easy-to-understand indicator.

The sphere is designed to give you an immediate understanding of how your recent work patterns appear to be affecting your current capacity. It also helps Advancify determine whether you can comfortably continue working or whether taking a break may be beneficial.

The Energy Level sphere has five levels:

Excellent (Green)

Your interaction patterns suggest you are working comfortably with high available capacity.

You can confidently continue your current work or study session.

Good (Light Green)

Your overall state remains positive.

Some workload may be present, but there are no strong indications that recovery is currently needed.

Steady (Yellow)

Your overall state appears stable.

Advancify has detected a moderate workload, but your interaction patterns suggest you can continue working comfortably.

Advancify will continue monitoring your state and recommend a break if your workload increases.

Poor (Orange)

Your interaction patterns suggest that mental or visual workload has increased noticeably.

Taking a short break is recommended to help maintain performance and comfort.

Very Poor (Red)

Your recent interaction patterns indicate sustained workload and reduced available capacity.

Advancify strongly recommends taking a longer recovery break before continuing your work or study session.

The Energy Level sphere is intended to provide a quick overview of your overall state.

If you would like to understand why your Energy Level has changed, you can review the individual metrics throughout the application, which explain the factors contributing to the current estimate.

The Energy Level sphere is a non-medical estimate based on your interaction patterns and, where available, physiological response signals processed locally on your device. It is intended for informational purposes only and should not be interpreted as a medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.
